Monday's Shout Out to My Friend's Business

Shout Out to My Friend’s Business Monday 2

It could be the fact that I am tired or maybe because I have been meeting so many people in the past year and a half, but it took me a while to remember where and when did I meet my friend, Clara. I know we were at this terrace bar in Oltrarno in Florence and it was pretty late at night. Of course I … Continue reading Shout Out to My Friend’s Business Monday 2

But like uhm… what did I do to be this lucky?
I remember reading somewhere some years ago how us people are always waiting for something. In the morning, we can’t wait for the evening. During weekdays, we can’t wait for the weekend. During winter, we can’t wait for the summer and so on. That’s when I decided to try as much as possible to not be like that anymore, to not think that way anymore as it meant not enjoying the present at all anymore if you’re always waiting for the future. And I wanted to be more present. Enjoy it more. Living it, not be in a continuous state of waiting anymore. And it kind of worked somehow, even during this period of Covid, confinements & co. It worked. It worked until the beginning November 2021. R got sick twice when she was very very small. First she was 17 days old and she was in the ICU and then again 20 days or so later. That’s when the doctors first told us that she probably has baby asthma. This meant (or at least that’s what I understood from them) that everytime she gets a virus or a bacteria, she risks getting seriously sick. Thankfully that didn’t happen again. Although her baby asthma was confirmed about 3 weeks ago. However back then in November when they said that, my mind just thought, made up this idea that once spring will be here, (almost) all our problems will be gone (since colds & co. are less frequent during spring and summer). So then the waiting began. I feel trapped somehow since then. Walking on eggshells. Trying and doing my absolute best for her not to get sick again, not to get into the ICU again, not to put her little body again through being sick. I think that probably she has seen me with a mask on for more than half of her life until now, she has been kissed very rarely, she has never been held by anyone else than us 3 and (many) healthcare professionals. So what do we have to do to get again some snow in Paris?
Home
We have been staying in Paris and not leaving it since the end of August. It has been some rough months since then and we would like to go explore France a little bit more. We have seen very very little of it. So if you have any recommendations at all, post them down below - places, food, drinks. We don’t know when life will allow us to do these things, but we hope we will manage to! ❤️
To you, lovely little human and big human! You are amazing and have gone through so much last year, I couldn’t have made it without you two! ❤️ thank you!
