I am back. Or at least I hope so.

I assume that motherhood and life in general in the past almost 3 years since my last post have kind of sucked me in like a tornado. Not much has changed I think but at the same time, so many things have changed. Let’s start from the most important ones. We are all healthy and well. Maybe tired sometimes, but we are all okay. I … Continue reading I am back. Or at least I hope so.

You

It’s 00:05. The 21st of November. This time 2 months ago I was in horrible pain. I was tired. I look at you now. You are 30 cm away from me and yet you are as if you are inside of me. Love is such a strange feeling. I hear your breathing and the way you squeak or snore sometimes. I think of you while … Continue reading You

Fall/Winter Must Haves

If you know me you also know that I am a summer person. I don’t even think that I like spring that much. Or maybe I do, but only in places where spring is warm too, not rainy. This is probably also due to the fact that I do not like, nor have any kind of resistance to cold weather. Since I moved to Rome … Continue reading Fall/Winter Must Haves

Take a walk on the wild side

Do not take him in your arms when he is crying, he needs to learn to calm down by himself. Do not keep him in your arms all day long or he will want to stay in your arms all day long. Do not wear him in the wrap all the time or he will only want to stay there. All the time. Do not … Continue reading Take a walk on the wild side

But like uhm… what did I do to be this lucky?
I remember reading somewhere some years ago how us people are always waiting for something. In the morning, we can’t wait for the evening. During weekdays, we can’t wait for the weekend. During winter, we can’t wait for the summer and so on. That’s when I decided to try as much as possible to not be like that anymore, to not think that way anymore as it meant not enjoying the present at all anymore if you’re always waiting for the future. And I wanted to be more present. Enjoy it more. Living it, not be in a continuous state of waiting anymore. And it kind of worked somehow, even during this period of Covid, confinements & co. It worked. It worked until the beginning November 2021. R got sick twice when she was very very small. First she was 17 days old and she was in the ICU and then again 20 days or so later. That’s when the doctors first told us that she probably has baby asthma. This meant (or at least that’s what I understood from them) that everytime she gets a virus or a bacteria, she risks getting seriously sick. Thankfully that didn’t happen again. Although her baby asthma was confirmed about 3 weeks ago. However back then in November when they said that, my mind just thought, made up this idea that once spring will be here, (almost) all our problems will be gone (since colds & co. are less frequent during spring and summer). So then the waiting began. I feel trapped somehow since then. Walking on eggshells. Trying and doing my absolute best for her not to get sick again, not to get into the ICU again, not to put her little body again through being sick. I think that probably she has seen me with a mask on for more than half of her life until now, she has been kissed very rarely, she has never been held by anyone else than us 3 and (many) healthcare professionals. So what do we have to do to get again some snow in Paris?
Home
We have been staying in Paris and not leaving it since the end of August. It has been some rough months since then and we would like to go explore France a little bit more. We have seen very very little of it. So if you have any recommendations at all, post them down below - places, food, drinks. We don’t know when life will allow us to do these things, but we hope we will manage to! ❤️
To you, lovely little human and big human! You are amazing and have gone through so much last year, I couldn’t have made it without you two! ❤️ thank you!
