Do not take him in your arms when he is crying, he needs to learn to calm down by himself.
Do not keep him in your arms all day long or he will want to stay in your arms all day long.
Do not wear him in the wrap all the time or he will only want to stay there. All the time.
Do not make him fall asleep by rocking him in your arms or he will only fall asleep like that.
Do not sing him to sleep or he will always want you to sing to fall asleep.
Do not let him sleep in your bed or he will only sleep there and never in his bed.
Do not feed him every time he shows you he wants to eat or he will get fat.
Do not feed him every time he shows you he wants to eat or he will stay attached to your boob 24/7.
Do not give him formula when you can breastfeed.
Do not give him formula because he will not like your milk anymore.
Do not give him a bottle because he will not want to latch onto your boobs anymore.
Do not go out without putting him a hat on or he will get a cold.
Do not go out with him or he will get a cold.
Do not tell me not to do something. I will not let him cry when he needs comfort, doesn’t want to stay in his bed or wants to eat just because they might create addiction. We are all addicted to affection and human connection. So why can’t a 1 month old baby want them as well? I prefer risking him being addicted to being held and loved than hearing him cry. So if love and comfort are so dangerous and addictive then so be it. Take a walk on the wild side as his favourite song says and just enjoy life.
